On 26th June, I underwent cataract surgery on my first eye. My second surgery is scheduled for 9th August. While these procedures are thankfully quite common and generally successful, the recovery period is essential — and often underestimated.

Each eye needs up to 8 weeks of healing time, which means I’ll be taking a break from selling The Big Issue in person while I allow my eyes to properly recover. Rest and proper aftercare are absolutely vital to avoid complications and to ensure the best long-term results.
