One-Pot Rice Cooker Meal: Easy, Delicious, and Minimal Effort

One-Pot Rice Cooker Meal: Easy, Delicious, and Minimal Effort

Some days, cooking should feel effortless. This is one of those days.

Ingredients

  • 100 g brown basmati rice

  • 100 g frozen mixed vegetables

  • 100 g cooked sliced chicken

  • Water (1.5× the rice by volume, or just enough to reach one finger above the food)

Instructions

  1. Add everything to the rice cooker: rice, frozen vegetables, and cooked chicken—no thawing required.

  2. Add the water according to your rice cooker’s measurements or until it’s about one finger above the food.

  3. Stir everything together gently. This ensures even cooking and prevents clumps.

  4. Close the lid and start the rice cooker on the standard “rice” setting.

  5. Wait and let it cook—about 35–45 minutes for brown basmati rice.

  6. Open, fluff, and serve: perfectly cooked rice, tender vegetables, and warmed chicken—all in one pot.

Why This Works

  • Stirring helps distribute moisture and heat evenly.

  • Using the frozen ingredients straight from the freezer keeps prep minimal.

  • The rice cooker’s sealed environment ensures the rice stays fluffy, vegetables don’t get mushy, and chicken warms without drying out.
